MOOC8/44.31 {18200623} 23 June 1820 James Goodin Inventory of all such property as have been relinquished by the death ab intestato of James Goodin on the twenty third day of the month of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven for the benefit of his unknown foreign heirs. The aforesaid property having been taken under the administration of the Board of Orphan Masters of this Colony in behalf of the aforesaid unknown foreign heirs and been inventoried by the undersigned was found to consist in the following, viz:t At the Slave Lodge where the deceased died. Thus inventoried at the Cape of Good Hope in the house aforesaid on the twenty third day of the month of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty according to a statement made by Thomas Story who declared to have acted herein bonafide and that to the best of his knowledge he has not withheld or secreted any thing that belonged to the aforesaid estate and the said appearer further declared that he is and will at all times be ready and willing to confirm his statement by solemn oath if required, promising at the same that if after the date of these presents any property of this estate might be discovered shall faithfully communicate it to the Orphan Chamber in order to amplify this inventory with the property so discovered.
